Commissioning App

For several years, we have been supporting TROX SE, a leading manufacturer of building technology and ventilation systems, in the development of central software solutions for the planning, commissioning and operation of complex building technology. The result is a consistent, modular system that maps the entire life cycle of technical components – from configuration and commissioning to monitoring and maintenance during operation.

An app, for example, supports commissioning engineers and service technicians directly on site in recording and identifying installed wireless components and seamlessly linking them to the central system controller, the central control and visualisation system. The app thus acts as a mobile interface between physical building technology and digital monitoring.

A key challenge was to make the commissioning of complex building technology as simple as possible, so that an overall system consisting of control technology and components could be created.

The project focused on a consistent, user-centred reduction in the complexity of commissioning. Based on real-life usage scenarios, it was defined which information and functions commissioning engineers and service technicians actually need when inspecting the building, reading in components and carrying out maintenance work.

The result was a user experience that focuses on the essentials, efficiently supports operational tasks and at the same time ensures consistency and data quality in the central system.
