ITSON
Battery Packaging

Nachhaltigkeit als Gestaltungskriterium
As part of the brand redevelopment for ITSON, we designed both the battery packaging and the batteries themselves. The goal was to create a distinctive, resource-efficient system that performs well functionally and stands out visually from the competition.
The result is a compact cardboard packaging system made from over 95% recycled material, which is easy to recycle and impresses with its functional, material-efficient construction. The design focused on reduction, ease of handling, and scalability – as well as clear differentiation at the point of sale.
The system is complemented by batteries manufactured locally in Europe using renewable energy, which are integrated into the overall visual concept as a unified product platform.

Clear visual communication.
ITSON takes a clear stance towards consumers – deliberately breaking with the conventional design codes of the category. Instead of technical aesthetics or overloaded claims, the visual system relies on precise typography, bold colour fields, and a refined design language. This is supported by a well-considered information architecture: colour codes and icons provide guidance and clearly indicate which battery is suited for which application. The packaging is easy to open, avoids plastic blisters, and keeps the batteries visible – while also serving as a practical storage solution even after opening.

One portfolio. One system.
The battery itself is also seen as part of the brand communication: The shape, colour scheme and layout take up the packaging concept and transfer it directly to the product. This creates a consistent appearance with a high recognition value - clear, functional and trustworthy.
The underlying design concept was extended to the entire ITSON portfolio - including powerbanks, chargers, torches and other product lines - thus creating a uniform, visually strong brand identity.
ITSON shows: Even everyday products can gain significance through good design - if you question conventions and think in new ways.
