Lucas Nülle
The drone training system for public safety organizations and civilian applications

A training platform for professional users

The Lucas-Nülle drone training system is designed as a flexible platform capable of addressing different learning objectives, application scenarios, and qualification levels. Modular function boards, real-world components, and flexibly configurable learning units enable both fundamental system principles and more advanced training content to be taught in a practical, hands-on manner.

The platform can be expanded step by step and tailored to different target groups, drone types, and fields of application. Use cases in public safety and emergency services (BOS), agriculture, the energy sector, as well as inspection, surveillance, and monitoring determine the specific selection and configuration of sensors, flight components, and technical functions.

Making complex drone technology tangible through a modular learning system...

A drone integrates numerous technical components within a very compact space. Depending on the application, flight controllers, sensors, propulsion systems, and other functional units are interconnected via compact plug-in and soldered connections, making them only partially accessible in the actual system. The development therefore began with gaining a complete understanding of this technical architecture and subsequently translating it into a modular learning system.

The relevant components, wiring, and signal paths are reproduced in a realistic manner, spatially separated, and made accessible as interchangeable functional modules. This allows learners to understand how the individual systems interact, establish and modify connections, and gain hands-on experience with typical tasks such as commissioning, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair. In this way, highly integrated drone technology is transformed into an adaptable and expandable learning platform that makes the technical logic of different drone types easy to understand and directly accessible.

The configurator for the right drone

The training system covers not only the electronic control and signal architecture, but also the key flight-mechanical components of different drone types. Motors, rotors, propulsion units, wings, and tail assemblies are designed as individual modules that can be combined and arranged according to the specific flight platform.

This allows common drone types, with their characteristic propulsion, lift, and control concepts, to be configured and compared in a practical, hands-on manner. The modular architecture makes differences in design, functionality, and flight behavior directly comprehensible, while also providing a flexible foundation for expanding the system with additional components, variants, and drone concepts in the future.
