After creating a “back to the roots” brand and market strategy during our strategic consulting for Carl Mertens International GmbH, the new character needed to be made visible and tangible for the audience at the booth during the “Ambiente” trade fair. The task was to represent Carl Mertens as a traditional and original manufacturer from Solingen. To do so, authentic materials like concrete, slate or rough oak wood were very important but also details like industry lamps or other original paraphernalia being used for years in the CM workshop.

Two new knife series, as well as a matching fabric collection were to be staged ideally as the core products. That’s why we designed the booth around a central kitchen block, fulfilling various functions: the audience was able to look at the knifes while being used for making little appetisers right in front of their eyes. Passing fair visitors are attracted by the action and are invited to watch. On the geometric cubes there is room for a classic and clean presentation.

For the Ambiente 2017, we modernized the stand to match the new products.
